Yes, sadly that's common with online dating... We've encountered our share of men that lie about their appearance, men that only want sex, men that go poof!... you name it. But that's also kind of why we got together to join forces on this. When we dealt with these creatures together, it was funny. If each one of us were really vested in them singly, it would have been quite disappointing... (Read our "triangular date" experience on our site to see how far we've taken the "together" bit.)

BTW, you should start a fresh thread with this stuff. Each experience deserves each own place! (And the responses get too narrow when there's so many of them on the page! LOL)

well hello...oh the stories. Just recently moved to NYC from SanFran in Sept. 2004. Oddly enough sometimes I find the one's that are online and say they are looking for a relationship are often the ones sometimes more interested in going to bed.

Last year's resolution which I've held well to (for the most part) was concerning 'sexual relations.' I decided I wanted to wait upon meeting someone and whether or not this is someone I wanted to get to know and see more than once.

So to the point before this Virgo/Taurus rising/Aries Moon/Pisces North Node, gets all carried away.

One guy I met online specifically said in his profile 'relationship.' So hey we emailed and talked and such. Now I'm 5'10 his profile said 5'11 and in his photo he had a full head of hair. Now we met and apparently between his home and the movie theatre he'd shrunk maybe 2-3 inches and gust of acid rain washes some of his hair out. Hmm, but still not bad looking and seemed nice. The movie was paid for had a good time. So I thought, the date wasn't bad, so thought to try again. Second date went well with bowling and I spoke with him about what my views on sex were, of getting the chance to 'feel' someone out ya know. Afterwards, before meetingBy the third date I thought I wanted to bring up the issue as it still had bothered me why he chose to say non-facts about himself...well the talk never happened. I never heard from him again. I called no return phone call. A few month later I see him out at a club and he comes over to me and says, 'what happened I never heard from you.' I said, "I called you home and cell and left messages.." Silence.

Similar incident and most recent same time schedule. Except on our second date it was late he spent the night and we'd already had the sex discussion. We made out and slept together (as in sleeping). Spent the following day all day in my place then went out for dinner and to small bookstore/coffeeshop. Then staggered response times in email and phone. And then nothing.

So that's been my online experience so far in NyC. But hey you need those to appreciate the good ones right, like most things in life.

I somewhat agree with some online guy who said what happens on both ends is that people put their best foot forward and at the same time the other person builds the object of desire to be something more than ....

Oh quickly I forgot one more similar to someone's here. Talked to a guy online he was looking for sex. Said that was not my intention and wished him well. Well he was still okay for chatting. We didn't live far so I just thought what the hell we could at least met, plus I had a meeting and would have to leave soon enough anywho. Invited him over we were talking and having a good time. We were talking about some website so I came over to my computer to try and find it. Took a bit of time and my back was turned. When I turned around from my computer he was stark naked, with socks! He must've been fast and quiet as it didn't take me that long to find the site. Ha.

I had lived outside of the US for many years, so I was a tad "wet behind the ears", when a friend explained Match to me. Some of my initial "dates" were somewhat hilarious, such as the woman who posted her daughter's photo, because "everyone says we look so much alike", or the slim petite , who was 5' 190#, or the unwashed one, who had the scent about her of the homeless, or the bi-sexual swinger, who was looking for a sex partner for the weekend, or the one, who excused herself to use the bathroom, and returned naked. These are just the tip of the iceberg. At times, I wondered why I had ever divorced my ex.
